Here are a few pictures that Brian took while I was grocery shopping. Apparently Brian was making lunch, and Daniel was a little upset that he couldn't help Daddy cook. The spoon made him feel like he was contributing...or tasting?

Fun with Daddy

Good Morning...
Daniel just wanted to say Good Morning to everyone. We have a busy day planned, so it'll be interesting to see how much we get done. Tonight we are going out to visit Grandma Rose since we haven't seen her since we were in Traverse City. It looks like the sun might actually come out for awhile today, so I'm thinking we might have to shake the dust off of our stroller and take a walk. Maybe Lilly and her Mommy might want to come with us, too. We also have bananas rotting, errr...ripening downstairs that would make some pretty tasty banana bread if I get to them today or tomorrow. After that, they are probably a lost cause.
Daniel ate sweet potatoes for the first time last night...and of course, he loves them! No crawling yet, but I think he is tiring himself out trying. I don't want to jinx us, but he slept from 8pm until almost 7am. Brian gave him a bottle and he slept for almost another hour.
Oh, and lastly...Nicole, did Amber have her baby? I have been trying to remember her blog, but I can't. Then I thought about calling you to ask, but we've been kind of busy and when I really think about it, it's pretty early for you guys out there!

Sitting with Daddy
Today I took Daniel to the Portrait Studio to have some pictures taken. I would like to know what kind of psychological-warfare training these smucks have to go through to be "photographers" at Wal*Mart. Oh sure the guy was friendly and nice with his "What a cute outfit!" and "Oh, let's just take one more!" Then it's time to move over to the computer to pick out which ones you want...There's a dozen poses and infinite ways to "enhance" each pose, and it's only ten dollars a sheet. Can you put a price on cuteness? Blissful, smiley, (and heavily copyrighted) cuteness? Let's just say that I think Brian will come with us next time.
Too Big for Bouncy Chair
Daniel brought to my attention, today, a few things that probably means he is too big for his bouncy chair. His feet stick pretty far off the chair, his little butt almost touches the floor, and he is using his imagination to turn it into something a little more fun. Even despite all this, he still likes to sit and play in it for awhile!
I forgot to mention that Daniel had his check-up yesterday, and everything is fine. Dr. Garlinghouse was happy that he was feeling better and his congestion is clearing up. We only have to use the nebulizer as needed, and so far, we haven't had to use it.

Cave No More
I can't say that it was the horrific pictures that I posted of the man cave that got Brian motivated to put in some trim, but whatever motivated him...Hooray! He even moved all the tools downstairs! I figured I would post a couple "after" pictures to show off his handy work. And, of course, more of Daniel...
Sippy Cups and Puffs
We've revisited the sippy cup which made Daniel quite happy. I think we're going to have to get a different one. The one that we're using is just too big. I've also started giving him these little puffs. They dissolve in water (or drool) so he won't choke on them. Daniel hasn't quite figured out how to put them in his mouth after he picks one up, but likes it when I feed them to him!

Self-Service
I tried giving Daniel a little cut up mango along with his peas for lunch. If I fed him, he thought chewing was a pretty neat thing, but he was only interested in playing with the chunks of fruit on his tray...and later the spoon. I had to rinse the washcloth out three times before he was reasonably clean!
Bug Soup
I am happy to say that I think Daniel is on the up and up towards recovery. He still has a pretty nasty cough, but it is nothing like it was last week. He finished all his medicine, and is just down to getting his nebulizer every six hours. Yesterday we were looking for something new to play with. What makes a better toy than tupperware and a spoon?
