A few pictures

It has finally stopped raining and the weather is getting a little warmer, so we have been spending more time outside. Today we went for a walk downtown, and then to pick up a movie.

Chicken Noodle

Last night I gave Daniel some Chicken Noodle baby food. Even though we make our own baby food, I'm still not sure how I feel about pureeing meat, so I picked up a Gerber jar. The meats must have an entirely different taste/texture than fruits and veggies because he was making faces that I have never seen before! All in all, I would say that he likes it.
We've been pretty busy this weekend. On Friday, Daniel spent a few minutes with Brian before he had to go to work. Then we left for Grandma and Grandpa's. We walked to Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Ken's where Daniel got to sit in the tractor, 4-wheeler, and Land Pride. Yesterday we went back to Aunt Jeanne's to help with her computer, it didn't go as planned; but Daniel played some pool and Uncle Ken showed off his guitar-playing skills (Daniel was highly impressed).

Is There Something On My Face?

Daniel's hands are getting faster than ours...which has made meal-time a little challenging! This is not the first time it has happened (though it is the first time we had a camera handy), and I'm sure it won't be the last. Also, remember back in September when Daniel could be propped up next to a "Happy Birthday" sign? Those pictures were so simple; the hardest part was really keeping him propped up. Well, those days are gone, and now there is a reason Daniel doesn't get to hold the signs anymore: He tries to eat them.

Happy Birthday, Uncle Mike!

Though it is technically still the 23rd, it feels a little late...but Happy 30th Birthday, Uncle Mike! We wish that we could be there to celebrate with you.

Watching TV

We have been pretty boring which can be seen here in the pictures - which are of Daniel watching TV - The Today Show, actually. The weather has been just gross and we've spent a lot of time inside; cruel considering how nice it was last week and how much time we spent outside. Today is supposed to be pretty nice, and I think I can talk Brian into firing up the grill! Daniel is getting tooth #3, on the right side next to his bottom front teeth. We've had the chicks for a week now, and so far no big issues.

Just a few pictures to say that I have updated the blog this week. We have been pretty boring as the weather has been cold and rainy. Saturday Jess and Lilly came over to play for awhile. Today Daniel and I realized that he is the perfect size to sit in his little toy box! The chicks are doing fine...we will need to come up with a plan for outside pretty soon.

Daniel and Penny

After being outside all week long, we haven't even managed to get outside once today! Daniel, Penny, and I played most of the morning. Brian has to work tonight, so we tried out a new recipe for his dinner...hopefully it tastes OK or I guess we'll have to bring him up a sandwich! The chicks have survived the first night. They are so funny to watch!

New Additions!

We brought home six baby chicks today! Daniel is pretty excited...Well, I'm really excited; Daniel is at least amused. They'll need to stay inside for awhile which will give us time to build some sort of coop outside.

A Walk Through the Locks

Daniel and I walked to the Locks today since it was another beautiful day! He got to wear his new hat which he got lots of compliments on. Not only is it cute, but it also keeps the sun out of his face...double win.

Outside Adventures!

I think it is safe to say that spring has finally made it's way to the U.P. We have been spending as much time outside as we can! A few nights ago we went for a walk with our neighbors, Josh, Jess, and Lilly and then made a pitstop at Dairy Queen on the way home. We even saw sandhill cranes while we were out. Daniel and I have been logging some serious miles with the new stroller. Yesterday we walked to Family Video and then to Project Playground. Later in the day we all went to Grandma and Grandpa's for a quick visit. Grandma and Grandpa put up a little swing for Daniel...while he seems a little apprehensive, I think he does like it! I've been working in our yard (hopefully we'll have some grass to play in this summer!) and getting our flower beds ready to plant.

Easter Morning!

The Easter Bunny was very good to Daniel! I'm sure he didn't know that it was Easter, and I'm pretty sure he didn't care what was in the basket...but he was really excited to tip the basket over and pull everything out! (Really, this was not much different than any other day at our house...)

Uncle Mike

Daniel's Uncle Mike (one of his Uncle Mikes) came home from Chicago for Easter. Poor Uncle Mike - Daniel cried everytime he looked at him. Grandma made a huge dinner for everyone, and later we played Balderdash while Daniel and Grandpa slept on the couch.
